Michael James is a passionate animal lover who runs Rolling Rock Ranch Alpacas with his partner Rob in Santa Clarita, California. They love and care for these gentle creatures (including the real-life Princess Pumpkin!) in addition to managing their lives as busy professionals. Michael and Amber are cousins who grew up and went to school together. One day while sharing Princess Pumpkin’s real-life fight for life, the two decided to write a book and share her inspiring story with the world.
Amber Cavalier Spiler began her equestrian experience at age 5 in the horse country of Ocala, FL. Amber earned the title of National Champion Equitation rider as well as four other national championships and several regional and state championships. After a long break from the equestrian world, Amber's love for the animals was rekindled while watching her daughters Bella and Lily learn to ride. It is with this new found enthusiasm that Amber decided to pen Blackwatch Stables Series in 2012, weaving her own experiences into this delightful story for the tween and adult audience. Amber is currently working on the third book in the series. When her cousin Michael James contacted her about the possibility of a children’s book featuring Princess Pumpkin, she was immediately inspired.
Michael and Amber both look forward to the new adventures they will share with Princess Pumpkin!
Kristin Llamas is an American contemporary painter, illustrator and installation artist born in Rochester, New York. At age 22, after being inspired to “Unite America through Art,” Llamas held her first solo museum exhibit of 50 paintings created while traveling to all fifty states. This body of work called The Nomadic Project continues to tour today around America and into Europe. The artist's most recent series "Llama Art Show" is quite possibly her most inclusive and playful project yet. With the series the artist plays upon her own last name "Llamas" to ask "¿Como te Llamas?" (What is your name?) and paints a llama that embodies that name, connecting the artist to her expanding audience. Kristin, lives in Nashville with her husband, Alfonso and their three young daughters but you can keep up with her work and participate in her art at KLlamas.com.
