One of the world's smallest surviving alpacas....
On Thanksgiving morning 2015, little Princess Pumpkin the Pocket Alpaca was born.
She was 4 weeks late, but only weighed 5.5 pounds. Most baby alpacas (called crias) average 20lbs at birth. Pumpkin was so tiny, she could not walk, could not nurse and for the first 2 hours of her life she even struggled to breath. After a very rough few days, Princess Pumpkin slowly gained strength and learned to walk. Within weeks she was jumping and running through the house.
This is her story, a tribute to the smallest alpaca with the biggest heart that has touched so many lives. To all who have taken part in her journey, we thank you for your love and wonderful ongoing support.
